We made the most of our Monday off by deep cleaning our little apartment and "turning over" our wardrobe for fall. I've been reading the KonMari Method so for the first time I ADDED my fall and winter clothes from storage to my wardrobe as a whole instead of swapping out my summer pieces. I've always been a minimalist at heart (or a military kid - same thing ;) so really the book has just allowed me to purge with less guilt. Highly recommend, regardless! My purge today left me with a highly-anticipated pile of neutral sweaters and plaid flannels. I'd like to think that I'm not boring; I have a clear sense of style...
I threw out most of our seasonal decorations when we downsized to our little apartment (post on that coming soon) so I was sans my typical faux-leaf wreaths and ceramic pumpkins. To be honest, it's made me realized that I'm even happier with just an over-scented Yankee Candle, a pile of gourds, and the windows thrown wide open. Fun fact: let a new candle burn until the full face of the candle has melted before blowing it out. It will then burn evenly all the way to the bottom (tried and true - I swear). I also cut the wick each time I burn a candle to prevent the glass from getting black with soot.
Chris had an equally as productive day - he sang songs AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS into his Shazam app to see if he was good enough for any of them to be recognizable. He was not successful. Hoping tonight's episode of The Voice dampens his confidence.
