Last week I headed to Bermuda on an impromptu work trip to watch the Louis Vuitton America's Cup World Series. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience of epic proportions (and epic yachts). Saturday's race unfortunately was cancelled due to a lack of wind, but we made the most of it with a personal tour of Oracle's insane headquarters and a few hours out on the water seeing the race course.
Sunday brought absolutely perfect sailing conditions (and a much-welcomed decrease in humidity... not that you can tell by my hair in these photos ;). We boarded the Spirit of Bermuda, a beautiful teaching schooner based in Hamilton Harbor. We headed out to the race course, where we lucked out with a front-row seat of all of the action. We drank Dark 'n Stormy's (a lot... of Dark n' Stormy's) and watched Artemis win the day. Definitely an epic life event - if you haven't seen competitive sailing I highly recommend it. It's one of the only sports I genuinely enjoying watching, especially live!
My outfit wasn't anything exciting but I am obsessed with my new hat - a gift from our friends at Gosling's Rum. I have a feeling it will outpace the Mount Gay Rum at as the ultimate sailing event hat by the time we get to the official Cup in 2017!
