I'm laughing reading my last post about how rested I was on Sunday. Last night I got stuck late at work, stopped at CVS to buy pizza rolls for dinner, and took one look at my apartment when I got home and immediately texted my friend in the building for her cleaning lady's email. I may feel better mentally but my current life pace is borderline unsustainable! I'm looking forward to the shoot next week and then hunkering down here in CT for the holidays.
BACK TO LAST WEEKEND, however. Saturday morning in Maine legitimately left us speechless. We woke up at sunrise and raced to the beach to catch the morning light. We didn't even stop for coffee - we grabbed mugs at the B&B and sloshed coffee all over the car :)
There's something about Maine that just sets your mind straight. The air is SO CLEAN and crisp. I feel cliche saying that but there's really nothing like it. I felt more alive that morning on the beach then I have in weeks. I've been going to Maine my whole life but had never visited the York area before. I have a feeling this will be our new go-to for weekend getaways. Under three hours from home, wide open, beautiful coast line, and things to see and do every season. I feel very thankful that we had the chance for this weekend of R&R right before things really heat up for the holidays.
(both C + I are head to toe LLBean (when in Maine...): hat/flannel/pullover/boots, blanket is vintage)
