I surprised C with a quick 3-day getaway to London for his 30th birthday. Our good friends Casey and Joel have lived abroad for almost three years and we hadn't yet gotten a chance to go visit. They blew us away with a jam-packed weekend full of the best London has to offer. I tried to break this post into three but honestly it was such a fantastic blur that stringing the whole trip into one felt like a better representation of our time.
We landed at 7 am after a red eye, woke up (and warmed up) with coffee and a walk through Notting Hill, and then explored the sights ending with a glass (or three) of red at the oldest wine bar in London. The next day we headed out to the precious little town of Hampstead for picturesque streets and a cold pint. On our last day we shopped around London and had a spot of tea at Sketch (the bathrooms are out of this world...seriously) before a quick trip to Tower Bridge (my favorite landmark) and then a bon voyage dinner at the best Indian restaurant I've ever tried.
It was a whirlwind trip but one we won't soon forget. We are so thankful to have friends like Casey + Joel and can't wait for our next Euro adventure together!
