Hi, I’M MEG.

I live in West Hartford, CT with my husband Chris and our baby girl Nell. We love classic American style and bickering about whose turn it is to unload the dishwasher. Glad you stopped by!

Young's Lobster Pound

My mom and I headed up to Maine on a whim to visit my Grandma Flo over Labor Day Weekend and it was so good to spend a few days with my family. My mom lives in Florida so I soak in as much time with her as I can while she's here - we took our time meandering up the coast, stopping in Freeport to add to our tote collections at LLBean and pulling over twice just to catch the sunset at various stages of dusk on our last leg (It's remarkable how enjoyable long drives can be when you're not in a hurry!).

We spent a blissful 48-hours at Grandma Flo's, playing Scrabble (slash I watched...these ladies are INTENSE at two things - cards and board games ;) and drinking wine on her porch. People tease me about my obsession with Maine but I'm telling you there is no place like it. I'm not sure if it's because my roots or there or if it's just such a welcome slowdown from my every day life, but I swear the air has a crispness to it that makes my heart sing the second we cross the state line.

I'll do a post in a few days of my favorite places in mid-coastal Maine. As a little teaser I highly recommend a stop at Young's Lobster Pound in Belfast. It's nothing fancy - a tried and true Maine lobster shack, built over the water with picnic tables and a gorgeous view of the harbor. Perfection.

Vest c/o (and under $50! take an extra 10% off with MEG10)/shirt/Booties/Blanket (we now have three of these cotton throws - our friends had them in their home in Kennebunkport and now we can't stop buying them! So soft)
