Living Room Refresh
I’ve recently found myself craving as calm of a home environment as possible. Our weekdays are a blur and we really savor our weekends at home with friends and family. My ideal Saturday involves lots of fresh air, a tired 19-mo old, worn out from belly laughing with family, and a glass of my favorite Portuguese red on the couch at 6 pm on the dot :) My favorite home brand, Serena & Lily, believes that living well begins at home (probably why I connect with their chic but casual line) and sent over a few pillows and a cozy throw to kick off my mini refresh.
I pushed myself outside of my navy-and-white comfort zone for a cooler, more neutral palette. I already have and love this kid-friendly coffee table and like the rattan textured bottom and shiny coolness the enameled top bring to the space. I swapped out a rope tray for this heavy white ceramic one - it feels more sturdy and the matte finish contrasts well against the shine of the enamel. Next I’d love to replace our dark walnut console with something lighter like this.
Today happens to mark the start of Serena & Lily’s Friends & Family sale - code GUESTPREP will get you 20% off sitewide. I’ve been saving to start decorating our master bedroom next year and hope to purchase this bed or this one - both have low headboards and would work beneath the window where we currently have our bed. I also hope to snag this floor-length mirror… I love that it’s made from teak branches that would’ve otherwise been wasted, and that it resembles a ladder you might use for blankets. It’s much lighter than most floor-length mirrors and I think it would work perfectly between our bathroom and closet door.
Below I’ve rounded up all of my favorites from the sale - some that we’ve had forever, like these napkins that go with everything, and other things like this flushmount that we just installed in our kitchen (it’s a MAJOR accomplishment to find a good looking flushmount IMO, and I love the scale of this one)! I’ve also tagged our favorite crib/toddler bedding for Nell. We’re almost two years in to daily use of her crib sheets and toddler quilt and it all still looks brand new. They are now the only sheets we buy for her and will do the same when she upgrades to a big girl room. Lastly, I linked to our bed pillow inserts. Random I know, but they are the ONLY pillows both C and I like and we’ve had them for five years now. I’ve even thrown them in the wash and they’ve done fine!
For now, I plan to at least pick up a few of these simple rope door stoppers now that we’re leaving all our doors and windows open in this crisp fall weather.
