Spring Wardrobe
I’ve been home since last Friday and like many others, have been increasingly more anxious as the days tick by. I realized that now that we’re home however, I don’t need to listen to ALL of the noise. We’re hunkered down, we have no reason to go anywhere, and for now, that’s our very best defense. I turned off the TV and my news alerts and significantly decreased checking my news feed. I already feel better.
While I am by no means unaware of what’s happening around me, I’ve decided to regain as much of a sense of normalcy as possible given our situation. SO! I went down a rabbit hole selecting a few things for spring. It’s driving me insane that nearly every shirt I ordered is so cropped I can’t possibly wear it without worrying about flashing my midriff. I figured I’m not alone in this so I thought I’d round up all of my selects - EVERY top is over 24” long which I’ve come to learn is my bare minimum for office appropriate. This striped tee has a bit more structure to it than the regular tee and holds up SO well in the wash. This white embroidered shirt is a great alternative to the Ulla Johnson one I’ve had my eye on that keeps selling out. It’s also 1/3 the price AND it’s longer! These mules are an amazing, seasonless staple and are currently 20% off with code THANKYOU. I love this fluid cream blazer for spring and it’s also up to 25% off (no code needed). This dress is pricey but I’ve had it for a year now and have never gotten so much use out of a single piece. It’s knee-length but not frumpy and is so easy to dress up and down. My sneaky favorite thin sweatshirt is on sale for under $30 and is my go-to staple for working from home and easy weekends.
Anyway, sometimes I pull these things together more for myself - it’s like a single virtual shopping cart that I can mull over, think about, edit and refine. This is a mix of things I have and things I would like to add and it helps me to see it all together - definitely prevents me from purchasing pieces that only work on their own vs. part of a capsule wardrobe.
