Nell's Christmas List
I can’t believe it’s been almost a YEAR since I posted a blog post. At the same time it feels accurate - life has been a blur as we became a family of five, learned some big news at work that’s weighing on us, and as most recently as we transitioned the twins to nursery school and Nell to kindergarten. It’s been a big, hard, beautiful challenging year for us and I haven’t many “completed” thoughts which typically lead to the kinds of things I’m comfortable sharing more openly here.
That said, here we are at the start of the holiday season - I couldn’t be more relieved to have some serious time off with my family on the horizon. We’re hosting Thanksgiving this week and after that I really want to just enjoy the holidays, so C and I sat down and actually finished all of our Christmas shopping late last week. Most sales started last week and regardless, the relief of getting it done while everything was in stock was worth paying an extra few dollars. On the bright side, things will probably be discounted a bit more this week so I thought I might as well share our list in the event you have a fantastic five-year old girl on your list this year too!
Maisonette sent out a little catalog a few weeks ago (I was waiting on the Amazon toy book but maybe they aren’t doing it this year?) and her big brown eyes lit up when I told her to take a look and circle her favorites. I LOVED doing that as a kid (RIP Toys ‘R Us catalog) and loved listening to her show me all of the things that caught her eye.
Her #1 wish is this rainbow stroller, she’s had a simple fold up one in the past but she couldn’t get over how real this one looks! Her #2 was this hot pink ballet outfit that I managed to find on Amazon for $26. Lastly in her top three was this Dreamland Castle Vanity that double as a castle for her Barbies - bonus that it’s almost 50% off. We added this play makeup set to this list (it’s out of stock everywhere but I found it here) as well as this grab bag of stocking stuffers to make Santa’s life a little easier :)
We also got a ukele as a family gift as Nell (and C) have wanted one forever and Nell is now old enough to appreciate it. I linked a few good ones about but she specifically wanted a blue one so we went with the Loog.
On the more practical front, this brand of pajamas fit her tall and lanky frame well along with these beautiful holiday ones from LAKE (I got the matching ones ;). She’s just about outgrown her wellies so I’ll grab the next size up in these (although I may go with a neutral color now so the brothers can inherit them). I haven’t done a wardrobe post in a while so I’m linking a bunch of her favorites now too.
There are a few other stocking stuffers and ballet outfits in my Amazon store and I plan to add some craft supplies as well. She’s dying for one of those Ponycycles but we try to not buy super expensive gifts that she will probably tire of pretty quickly.
Feel free to ask any questions in the comments - I will post the twins’ list next! Happy shopping.
