Spring Edit
I felt quite inspired in pulling together a few new pieces for Spring this year, considering I’ve been wearing (and staring at) essentially the same wardrobe for almost two years now. My closet is more streamlined then ever and I don’t see that changing, but some of my go-to’s especially for warmer weather are in desperate need of a refresh.
I anticipate that this COVID-era model of more flexible working arrangements is here to stay in many ways, which from a wardrobe perspective can really help in eliminating the “outliers” you’ve always owned for formal work attire and gives you permission to focus on bringing in hard-working, multi-purpose pieces.
I told myself when stepping back from blogging that if I felt like posting, I would, so here you go. I hope you enjoy!
Some of my favorites:
This $35 cotton blouse that reminds me of my Doen favorites but at an attainable price (and machine washable :)
These classic Birkenstocks with big TORTOISE buckles!
I grabbed this highly rated zip-up in cream for running Scout out in the morning… currently $30.
These white ones are great too if you want something a bit more trendy (that platform!)
This crisp white button down from a brand my friend Corie keeps telling me to try
The neutral stripe of my dreams - in a mom-friendly silhouette in a soft cotton pima
A great ribbed cardigan in soft lavender gray for under $20
I can’t live without a good sweatshirt dress for school drop-off… this one comes in tall so I can confidently wash/dry it without worry. Good deal for $20!
This washed black sweater looks like Ulla Johnson but is 100% cotton - I will machine wash cold and air dry! Love it with high-waisted shorts and pants but also over dresses!
I am very picky about shorts, so I splurged on this cotton drawstring pair and hope they are as flattering and versatile as they look!
This ribbed cotton tee got great reviews and is under $10
My pj’s got way too much use last year - I picked up this fresh pair in a sweet sage shade for under $30
I haven’t gotten these in the mail yet but with a new puppy needed a pair of slide sandals I didn’t have to worry about. I found these from my friend Rachel and they are $23! Worth a try.
I’m also including a few of my tried-and-true favorites that will be in regular rotation again this year:
These easy pull-on shorts
My favorite (and only) cover up (I have it in black but love it even more in white!)
My go-to denim shorts (they’re eco-conscious AND $17.99)
I shared this special trench a few weeks ago and am still in love. Size down!
My staple one-piece that comes in long torso sizes!
My favorite hat - made in the USA by a small business in NY
I snagged a woven leather crossbody by Bottega Veneta on Poshmark this winter… it’s incredibly beautiful and so great for hands-free shopping (and toddler wrangling). I also love that it’s not branded and feels timeless. This one is similar but definitely check out second-hand sites for a bargain (I paid around $300)
I have this sweater as a turtleneck and it’s worth every cent. This crewneck in muted clay is absolutely perfect for spring.
I have this shorty crewneck in my cart but can’t decide between the white or washed black. Emerson Fry holds up so well I know it will get a ton of use. Black seems more practical with a toddler and a chocolate lab but we’ll see!
