I love the beach in the fall and winter almost more than the summer - it's so quiet and therapeutic! It's so humbling to stand in the cold all bundled up with rosy cheeks and watch the waves crash on the shore.
Our getaway to Watch Hill was exactly what we needed. As soon as our room was ready we changed from our trip to the spa and headed out to the beach. Once my boots were soaked through (my fault - got a little to ambitious with the shoreline ;) and we couldn't feel our fingers we warmed up by the fire with a glass of red wine and then took in the last few minutes of daylight from Ocean House's iconic porch.
I know Watch Hill is most famous for it's summer, but I can't recommend a little off-season getaway highly enough!
