Ocean House
I have wanted to stay at Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island since I was a little girl - the iconic property overlooks one my favorite beaches and I've always wondered what it looked like inside. During Christmas break Chris and I realized that we had an entire week of unplanned time off together and decided that we should go on a little getaway. I was so excited that Ocean House had availability (and a few openings at the spa) so we jetted down to Rhode Island on a whim.
Our stay was so relaxing - from the champagne at check-in the floor valet that brought us ice and a champagne bucket for our Veuve within minutes, it was such a nice break. We had lunch at Seasons (A+) and drinks by the fire in the bar after a windy walk on the beach. I also love staying somewhere with a club dress code - there is something about dressing for each part of our stay that makes a two-day getaway feel like an event. A lot of places that I travel for work have a strict dress code and while our crew sometimes complains, I secretly love it!
To be honest, the spa was just ok - the facilities and staff were lovely but the treatments were really mediocre for the price. Regardless, I highly recommend an off-season visit to the Ocean House for a little R&R!
