Sunday Mornings
I’m a few weeks in to my 2020 health #forthelonghall project and I’m feeling really good about the small steps I’ve already taken, including scheduling a physical, going to the dentist, and syncing up with a holistic health coach. One of the smaller but equally important victories has been being more deliberate about my weekend time. I’m a serious homebody and probably wouldn’t leave the house from January - March if my husband didn’t drag me out, but funny enough I am terrible at relaxing! I love to clean, organize, and putter around and next thing you know I’ve been running around checking things off my endless list for six hours straight. I told myself in the new year that I would sit down and drink my coffee every Sunday and read something mindless for at least an hour. Last weekend the light was incredibly beautiful and actually read through my coffee table books (am I the only one that has a few they haven’t cracked??). It was an indulgence I didn’t know I needed and look forward to practicing it as part of my regular routine.
A change I made last year that I’ve kept up with is trading out my raggedy sweat pants and sorority tees for real pajamas. A few pairs of good quality pajamas take up far less drawer space than a million ratty t-shirts and I love how pulled together jammies somehow make me feel more relaxed. Serena + Lily sent over these linen pajamas made in Portugal and they’ve been my favorite this winter. I tend to run hot and the cool linen keeps my temp regulated while allowing me to wear a full sleeve and pant. We have a linen duvet and quilt that only get better as you wash it; I should’ve known I’d love linen sleepwear. The washed yarn-dyed linen feels so luxurious and the classic cut is a polished, grown-up version of traditional pajamas. I’m tempted to snag the blue and white stripe version too but am staying mindful of my #noshop19 learnings (although it also comes in a robe…). You can’t go wrong with crisp white, though, and if I wear out my cotton jams by spring I might have to take the plunge :) If you are someone that runs on the chilly side and are a size Medium, they also have them in soft flannel on sale!
Their sleepwear extends to equally beautiful slippers and spa robes… really wishing I wasn’t a size 11 shoe so I could test these French felt slippers. Per usual, Serena & Lily doesn’t do something unless they can do it well and I’m loving their carefully curated line of cozy things to help you live well.
