Arhaus Living Room Reveal
I am so thrilled that our living room project is finally complete. I must admit that I am absolutely blown away by this sofa. I joked on instagram stories that you could “smell” the quality when it was delivered - it was probably just the brand new fabric but oh my goodness, I’ve never loved a piece of furniture more. Ironically we’d been 100% set on the Kipton Sofa in linen when agreeing to this partnership but I am so thankful the social media team didn’t place the order until after we visited Arhaus’ new showroom in South Norwalk. I’ve become so accustomed to online shopping (especially this year) that I think I’d forgotten the power of touching and feeling before buying - especially something that would play such a permanent and well-used role in our home.
The manager, Austin, gently guided us to the Beale Sofa after hearing our criteria: extra deep, family-friendly fabric, neutral colorway, and most importantly, responsibly made. Arhaus’ commitment to sustainability (they have committed to never using materials from endangered rain forests, and are known for their use of recycled materials) was one of the key reasons I agreed to the partnership. As a new-ish homeowner, and long-time vintage furniture collector, I’ve been saddened by the materials and manufacturing processes of many new-construction pieces I’ve considered. Austin reminded us that this extra-deep sofa was not only made in the USA, but also available in Crypton fabric, an entirely eco-friendly, chemical-free stain resistant fabric that required only water to clean it. I have a highlight reel of demonstrations on instagram and it’s truly amazing… crayon, highlighter, soy sauce, even red wine! All disappeared after being saturated with plain water and agitated. Instead of chemicals, the fabric is tightly woven to create a natural stain barrier. I am so impressed, not only by the performance capabilities but also by the feel! It’s incredibly soft and looks nothing like the tough canvas I was expecting. I would’ve never made these selections without Austin’s help and a visit to the showroom to experience the quality and craftsmanship of their product in person. I highly recommend paying them a visit, and I’ve heard the same feedback from many of you that have headed in-store to consider a new Arhaus sofa yourself.
Additionally, Austin suggested customizing the seat to a bench cushion to better fit our vision for the space. The design of the Beale plus the custom cushion give the sofa an almost day-bed vibe, absolutely incredible for sinking in and reading by the fireplace. We love the feel of the space so much now that I’ve succeeded in officially rejecting a TV over the fireplace, in order to maintain the natural conversation we tend to pick up whenever we’re in here.
In a twist of fate, another blogger received this coffee table in error and so kindly brought it over to see if it’d work in our space. It’s wide surface is perfect for playing board games in front of the fire and I love how the natural wood tone compliments our vintage end tables.
This project has been a labor of love over the past year and I’m so pleased with how it’s come together, just in time for the holidays.
Thank you to Arhaus at the SoNo Collection for partnering on this post.
